The idea of getting the hand involved into Tool's artwork represents a sort of universal blessing. “The Torch” was started in Chelsea, NYC COSM Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, 2008, on an evening we received a visit from Sasha & Ann Shulgin. Sasha is an American pharmacologist and chemist credited with popularizing MDMA, especially for psychopharmaceutical use in the treatment of depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Authored with his wife, psychotherapist Ann, were the books PiHKAL (Phenethylamines I Have Known and Loved) and TiHKAL (Tryptamines I Have Known and Loved), both essential volumes on the topic of psychoactive drugs.
